Christine Quinn turned out to have a hidden knack for singing, as she became one of the newest celebrities to be exposed on The Masked Singer US.
The candidates took part in an 80s-themed spectacular on the most recent edition of the program, with Scorpio playing Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun as her first tune of the night.
Following the elimination of Cheers actor George Wendt as Moose, Scorpio returned to the stage in the battle royale round to face Doll.
Christine’s interpretation of Duran Duran’s Hungry Like A Wolf wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition, as Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger stared in disbelief at her reveal.
Robin couldn’t suppress his annoyance after discovering a Selling Sunset hint in a VT box but failed to recognise the entrepreneur as the singer behind the mask.
‘How close can you get and get it wrong?’ he exclaimed.
He then turned to her and said: ‘I thought you really rocked it, especially when you did Hungry Like A Wolf, and you got on the stage and you bent all the way back.’
‘I was like, if I’m gonna do it, I’m going out with a bang!’ Christine responded, as the Blurred Lines musician remarked: ‘You gave it all. You gave it all.’
Christine stated that she has ‘always liked this programme’ when asked by presenter Nick Cannon why she wanted to participate.
‘I was like, “I wanna be on that show. That’s so fun, it looks so fun, I wanna do it! Girls just wanna have fun!”’ the 34-year-old said.
Nicole praised Christine for bringing the ‘best enthusiasm and energy’ of the entire season, while Jenny commended the performer for her ‘stage presence’.
‘You owned the stage like you’ve done this before!’ she stated.
Well I call myself a “closet singer”,’ the real estate broker admitted.
‘So the fact that I’m here on the stage singing in front of people just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and practise.
‘Well said,’ Ken remarked in response.
While some viewers knew Christine’s voice right away, others were taken aback when they discovered she was the voice behind the bizarre persona.
‘Christine Quinn‼️ Nobody was right,’ one person tweeted.
‘Christine Quinn on Masked Singer!?!?’ another wrote in astonishment, while someone else commented: ‘Wow-she’s did amazing. I loved her voice and style.’
The Masked Singer airs on Fox in the US.
