Fans of Sex Education should prepare to get very excited indeed as Asa Butterfield has shared a snap on production for season four.

The coming-of-age drama has been a huge hit with Netflix viewers since landing on our screens in 2019.

Starring brilliant actors such as Gillian Anderson and Emma Mackey, the teen series follows Moordale High students as they grapple with burgeoning romances and friendship bust-ups.

Season three, which also featured Girls actor Jemima Kirke as unpopular and strict headteacher Hope, ended on a cliffhanger, with the school’s future put in a perilous position when it went up for sale.

Few details have emerged about what’s coming next for the gang, but it has been reported that the latest chapter in Sex Education will focus on the hunt for a new place to study.

It seems that filming is now well underway, with Asa, 25, who plays Otis, posting a picture on Twitter from the set.

In it, the The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas actor could be seen hanging out of his trailer while taking a sip of tea.

The Hugo performer simply captioned the post: ‘Guess who’s back.’

Naturally, fans were thrilled about the news, with one writing: ‘S******g tears rn.’

Another penned: ‘So excited.’

‘Otis hooray I have been waiting for your return for so long,’ a follower agreed.

Although Asa is reprising his role, four cast members have confirmed they have departed the series.

Simone Ashley, Patricia Allison, Rakhee Thakrar and Tanya Reynolds will not be coming back for more antics and advice from amateur sex therapist Otis.

However, on a happier note, it has been reported that Ncuti Gatwa isn’t letting go of beloved Eric Effiong just yet.

After the spate of departures, fans were worried the 29-year-old would be too busy with Doctor Who as he has been cast as the 14th Time Lord.

Seasons one to three of Sex Education are available to stream on Netflix.
