South Park writers received assistance after employing the AI bot ChatGPT to put together the newest episode.
ChatGPT is a chatbot developed by OpenAI, a startup affiliated with billionaire Elon Musk.
It is a natural language processing tool powered by AI technology that allows you to converse with a chatbot in a human-like manner.
The episode Deep Learning begins with the pupils at South Park Elementary realising that they can have technology complete their homework and school tasks for them.
But the lads decided to utilise it for another vital purpose: to talk to girls.
In one scene, Clyde explained the software to Stan and said there were a ‘bunch of apps and programs you can subscribe to that use OpenAI to do all of your writing for you’.
‘People use them to write poems, write job applications, but what they’re really good for is dealing with chicks,’ he added.
Stan, Butters, Clyde, and Cartman then used it to write messages to their girlfriends, but they ran into difficulty when the females at school installed an app that alerted them to messages written by the programme.
But, when the credits began to roll, observant fans saw that the tool was named as one of the two writers responsible for the episode, alongside the show’s creator Trey Parker.
New episodes of the long-running comedy have also gotten a lot of attention in recent weeks, most notably one that poked fun at Prince Harry and Meghan.
The cruel episode, dubbed The Global Privacy Tour, showed characters resembling Harry and Meghan attempt to settle down in a new town, much to the disgust of their new neighbours, who labelled them ‘dumb’ and ‘stupid’.
South Park is streaming on Paramount Plus.
