Stacey Dooley reflects on how becoming a mother for the first time has altered her life.
The 35-year-old documentary filmmaker and TV host welcomed her first child with Strictly Come Dancing‘s Kevin Clifton, 39, in January, later announcing they were parents to a baby girl called Minnie.
While the renowned pair has chosen to keep their child out of the spotlight, with the exception of the occasional adorable social media video, Stacey has now gushed about her passion for parenting.
She believes she is now more ‘dramatic’ than ever.
She sighed as presenter Emma Willis inquired how things were going on The One Show on Monday.
‘Oh, Emma!’, she exclaimed, smiling.
‘Honestly, it’s like I’m the first woman to ever have a child, I’m that dramatic,’ Stacey joked.
Singing the praises of her daughter, she went on: ‘I’m just completely obsessed, I’m head over heels. She’s magic.’
‘So, Minnie has arrived, since you were last here,’ Emma chimed in.
‘Yeah, I must have been about five months (pregnant) when I was here last time,’ Stacey added on how time has flown.
‘I’m good as gold and she is just a delight, I know I’m biased, aren’t I?
‘But she’s just the love of my life. Just made up with her,’ the star shared sweetly, adding that Minnie was with her in the studio.
‘Do you remember that feeling?’, Emma asked co-host Jermaine Jenas.
‘Yeah and then four later it’s faded slightly,’ the dad quipped.
‘I’m hoping to get that chill,’ Stacey added.
‘I’ll get there.’
Stacey went to work for the first time since giving birth in February.
She announced her return on Instagram with a video from the rear of her vehicle, in which she yawned and covered her tired new mother eyes with sunglasses.
‘Not me en route to work with my daughter on 1 hour sleep’, Stacey wrote alongside the clip.
And, with Minnie in attendance for her mummy’s One Show chat, it appears Stacey has already mastered the ‘bring your daughter to work’ days!
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
