Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp leads celebrity reactions as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti are crowned Love Island 2022 winners

Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp has led celebrity reactions after Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned Love Island 2022 winners.

The 27-year-old actress and the Italian stallion have had quite the journey during their time in the villa but their fiery chemistry led them to the £50,000 prize.

Four couples ended up in the final with Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri finishing in fourth place and Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope ending the series in third place.

Gemma Owen and Luca Bish finished as runners-up.

Several celebrity superfans have shown their love for the pair, with Hollywood actress Margot Robbie crediting Ekin-Su and Davide for providing ‘pure entertainment.’

While Noah, 17, simply commented: ‘Yes!!!’ under Ekin-Su’s Instagram snap of her and Davide.

2019 winner Amber Gill tweeting: ‘MOM & DAD,’ along with a string of trophy emojis.

Congratulating the couple on their victory, 2021 runner up Chloe Burrows wrote: ‘Omg the way me and toby just screamed hahahahaha. VERY WELL DESERVED EKIN AND DAVIDE!!’

TV personality Vicky took to Instagram stories writing: ‘Go on @ekinsuofficial and @davidesancli.

While Love Island 2017 winner Amber Davies added: ‘On behalf of the UK… we love you.’

Show presenter Laura Whitmore wrote ‘I love them so much!!! Our winners.’

Comedian Rosie Jones joked: ‘Ekin-Su and Davide winning Love Island is the first time I’ve agreed with a public vote done by this nation in over a decade.’

Before the winners were revealed, a compilation of messages were shared from celebrity fans, which included Love Island USA host Sarah Hyland, comedian Alan Carr, Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am and radio presenter Greg James.

While many fans are over the moon by the result, several were left fuming by the last-minute twist revealed by host Laura that the £50,000 prize wouldn’t be up for a steal.

Despite the fact that no winning couple has ever had one of them steal the money, viewers couldn’t believe the option had been taken away.

During the final episode, the final four enjoyed their prom night together where they got suited and booted and proceeded to read their vows to each other – and what an emotional night it was.

Ekin-Su told Davide: ‘It’s been a hell of a ride for us. They say Rome wasn’t built in a day and so are we.

‘I love being together. The Turkish Delight and the Italian Stallion. You are my soulmate.’

Speaking to Laura Ekin-Su said:‘It feels so surreal finding the man of your dreams.’

In his typical self-assured manner, Davide, 27, joked that he ‘wasn’t stressed’ about coming in as a bombshell during the first week.

He also laughed as he revealed his favourite moment in the villa was branding Ekin-Su a ‘liar’ in a now iconic moment.

Love Island can be streamed in full on ITV2 Hub now.
