Bobby Brazier has been a fan favourite on Strictly Come Dancing since the beginning, but his recent performance has piqued the interest of spectators.
Bobby and his dance partner Dianne Buswell, 34, took the stage and danced their tango performance to David Bowie’s Fashion.
The judges gave the couple a 30 overall for their week four performance, despite great accolades in prior weeks.
Anton du Beke was’so happy’ with the 20-year-old Eastenders actor, but Craig Revel Horwood was booed by viewers when he blasted Bobby’s ‘lack of attention’.
Fans noticed that the Freddie Slater actor was ‘upset’ despite their disagreement with his harsh statements.
Some felt he and Dianne appeared ‘wrong,’ and it wasn’t simply due of their height disparity, which fans critiqued.
‘Bobby didn’t seem his usual happy self this week bless him, I hope he’s ok?’ wrote one fan on X (Twitter).
Another said: ‘Something was really off with Bobby and Diane tonight, just felt like they were going through the motions #strictly.’
A third wrote: ‘Bobby didn’t seem very happy tonight. I love watching him. Something was off.’
‘Bobby and Dianne both seemed really upset tonight? hope they’re both ok they did amazing!!’ agreed someone else.
Others claimed Dianne was the one who appeared sad and crying, yet both were emotional after receiving their grades.
‘It’s been emotional. So, so emotional. All week. But closing the show is a great privilege,’ shared Bobby.
Dianne added: ‘It was really difficult. I pushed you [Bobby] musically. That song is not easy to hear and you worked so hard to be able to hear the music.
‘But he’s just been a massive rock this week so thank you.’
The couple clasped as Dianne fought back tears, demonstrating their affection, however some have attacked the pairing due to their height disparity.
Bobby is 6ft 2 and his professional dancing partner is a foot shorter at 5ft 2.
According to fans, the actor must bend slightly to be at the proper level for some grips and movements.
Several Strictly fans believed that Bobby would have been a better choice for Nadiya Bychkova, who is closer to his height.
Despite their height concerns and emotional outbursts, Bobby and Dianne are pipped as finalists due to their fan favourite status and steady scores.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and iPlayer.
