The routines and song choices have been revealed for Strictly Come Dancing 2022 week 1 – and it looks like the first live show is going to be an absolute spectacle!
Tonight, celebrities including Ellie Simmonds, Fleur East, Helen Skelton and James Bye will take part in their very first live show, trying their best to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
The nation will also be watching at home, curious to see who might have a chance of lifting the Glitterball Trophy at the end of the competition… so no pressure!
Ahead of the episode – which follows last night’s launch, where each of the celebrities were paired with their pro partners – the BBC unveiled which pairings would be dancing to which songs.
With several Cha Cha Chas, Jives, Quicksteps and American Smooths set to take place, here’s who’s going to perform what on the dancefloor.

So who do you think will tear up the dancefloor and earn brownie points from the judges for their smooth footwork and charismatic performances?
This year’s couples on Strictly includes two same-sex pairings for the very first time.
Radio DJ Richie Anderson has been partnered up with Giovanni Pernice, while comedian Jayde Adams is set to compete with Karen Hauer.

Olympic champion Nicola Adams was the first celebrity to be in a same-sex pairing with Katya Jones in 2020, before Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite finished as runner-up with Johannes Radebe last year.
Last night’s launch show, which was pre-recorded, showed the moments that each celebrity discovered who they’d be dancing with.
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps actor Will Mellor revealed in the BBC studio that he has a particularly unusual connection with judge Anton, as they’ve previously bumped into each other while dropping items off at the local tip.

‘We love the tip. It’s so cleansing to go to the tip! Favourite place in the world!’ Anton said when the revelation came out.
’It’s one of my most favourite places to go. Here, have me stuff!’ Will joked.
It was previously announced that the Strictly 2022 launch show was to be pre-recorded on Wednesday September 7.
While the live shows were initially due to return from Saturday September 17, this date was postponed following the Queen’s death on Thursday September 8.
In a statement released at the time outlining changes across its scheduling, the BBC said: ‘Following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II there will be special programming to mark her life across the BBC and schedules will be subject to change.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.45pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
