Nikita Kanda was a participant on Paddy McGuinness’ renowned programme before becoming a Strictly Come Dancing star.
Nikita first featured on Take Me Out in 2019, before going on to become a BBC Asian Network radio broadcaster and host of her own breakfast programme.
Nikita, 28, is presently coupled with Gorka Marquez and has fallen to the bottom of the leaderboard in recent weeks, facing the dreadful dance off last Sunday against Les Dennis.
However, this is not her first appearance on reality television, or even on Strictly, since she had a cameo appearance on Channel 5’s Strictly Come Dancing‘s Greatest Moments in December 2022.
Nikita had participated on Take Me Out a few years before, along with 29 other females, seeking for a date.
Nikita switched off her light for bodybuilder James on the opening episode of the eleventh and final series of Take Me Out, while the other hopefuls that came down the lift were farmer Berty, gymnast Raymond, and Scarlett Moffatt’s ex-boyfriend Lee.
She later teased her Take Me Out stint on Instagram, wearing a black glitter number and writing: ‘Basically we tried to copy @JLO with this look #takemeout.’

She also dated a Love Island competitor, so she has a strange connection to celebrity.
During a radio segment, Nikita admitted: ‘I’m actually getting flustered right now. I did go on a date with Jay [Younger] from Love Island.’
Despite her dating history, the Birmingham-based host recently said she isn’t concerned about the show’s fabled curse.
She told us: ‘No I don’t believe in the Strictly curse, it’s not something you think of.
‘I’m so busy with our breakfast show in the morning and then straight to train with Gorka, there’s no time for anything else.’
‘It’s just work, work, work right now, which I’m happy to do,’ she added.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.
