Superfans of Ted Lasso are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night at the football coach’s Richmond bar.
Ted (Jason Sudeikis), ever hopeful, is a frequent at The Crown and Anchor, where he often celebrates AFC Richmond’s success with a pint or three or drowns his sorrows.
And fans who want to go even closer to the Apple TV comedy’s action may book a night at the real-life bar, The Prince’s Head, and unleash their inner Ted Lasso.
On the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of October, Airbnb will turn the pub into a makeshift hotel, with up to four visitors able to book a one-night stay for just £11 per night (plus taxes and fees).
With actor Annette Badland, 72, hosting the stay, guests will even have the opportunity to meet Ted Lasso’s no-nonsense landlady Mae.
The Doctor Who actor told Metro.co.uk that if her schedule allows, she would like to meet fans in person.
She explained: ‘The intention is that I meet and greet [the guests] myself. And if I happen to have a job then I will do it virtually. But I really, really want to be there.’
Guests will be able to sit at Ted’s favourite table in the pub and play chess during their stay.
If that doesn’t pique their interest, they may also show off their karaoke abilities with a version of their favourite song or compete for the greatest score on the pinball machine.
Ted’s famed biscuits, which AFC Richmond owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) can’t get enough of, as well as traditional pub cuisine from The Prince’s Head, will be tried.
Annette anticipates that the lucky ones would “simply go berserk,” and proposes that they act out their favourite Ted Lasso moments.
She added: ‘If they fancy, they can even bring their own mustaches [to emulate Ted].
‘I think they will just have a great time: re-enacting the scenes that they love, just being the characters or just swooning at being in the space.’
Annette described the stay as a ‘terrific idea’, adding: ‘You open the door and there’s Richmond Green outside and it will be autumn. It will look absolutely fantastic.
‘And for the fans of the show, I think they’ll feel really a part of it. It’s a way to be part of the whole experience.’
Ted Lasso fans may request to reserve this stay at airbnb.com/tedlasso beginning Tuesday, March 21 at 6 p.m. GMT. Visitors must arrange their own transportation to and from Richmond.
Season three of Ted Lasso premieres Wednesday March, 15 on Apple TV.
