The latest Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists to advance to Sunday’s final have been unveiled, with singer Malakai impressing both the judges and the audience.
Following the announcement of 13-year-old Malakai as the night’s overall winner, it was up to judges Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Simon Cowell to select which of the two remaining acts in the top three would go to the finals.
When given the choice between aerial hoop combo combo Odyssey and beatboxing artist MB14, Simon and Alesha chose MB14.
However, Amanda elected to back Duo Odyssey, and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno decided to put it to a public vote.
Ant and Dec, the show’s hosts, revealed that Duo Odyssey had advanced to the final.
The penultimate semi-final on Thursday night was full of surprises after Noodle’s identity was ultimately revealed as 2022 finalist Tom Ball.
They shouted out the James Bond classic Live and Let Die during the act’s performance, and before we knew it, last year’s runner-up Tom was singing along.
A rather stunned Simon said: ‘I swear to God I never knew who was behind the cat. I’m slightly disappointed it’s not a singing cat if I’m honest. If you don’t win the show, just come back as a singing cat! You have never sung better than that.’
Finalists Malaki and Duo Odessey will be joining Ghetto Kids and Travis George.
Viggo Venn, who had the crowd on their feet with his, ahem, fascinating One More Time remix, and vocalist Olivia Lynes, who had everyone in tears with her performance of Into The Unknown from Disney’s Frozen 2.
On pressing the famed buzzer, Amanda said: ‘I wasn’t expecting to do that. I always go on how I feel in my heart. And everybody was on their feet and you truly deserve that moment Olivia. I feel so proud of you Olivia.’
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
