Shazia Hussain, a technology recruiter based in London, was the fifth and final contestant to be eliminated from the competition during the episode of The Apprentice that aired on Thursday night.
The aspiring business partners and entrepreneurs were given the challenge of branding an electric motorcycle and developing an enticing advertising campaign in preparation for a nervous presentation to a panel of industry professionals who are knowledgeable in that area.
Bradley Johnson, the project manager, is enthusiastic about motorcycles; but, Shazia, who took on the role of sub-team leader, rejected his vision, and pandemonium erupted after she entirely changed the brief without his approval.
When it came time to cast the promotional film that Shazia’s group was working on, they were unable in finding an actress who was capable of riding a motorcycle.
Throughout the process of deciding who should be let go, the successful businessman considered Shazia’s alleged incapacity to rectify the many errors that she had committed during the catastrophic endeavour.
He said ahead of her exit: ‘Shazia, I like people who admit their mistakes. The problem here is that there were so many mistakes.

‘If it was one thing fair enough, overlook it, another thing, fair enough, overlook it. But there were so many mistakes. Shazia it is with regret that you’re fired.’
An advocate for neurodiversity issued the following statement after her departure from the programme: “I think Lord Sugar made a mistake terminating me.”
The fact that he passed up a fantastic chance for investment will be difficult for him to accept, but he will have to learn to do so.
After disclosing early on in the BBC show that she struggled with ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia in addition to memory problems, the candidate made it immediately apparent how strongly she feels about advocating for neurodiversity.
She went on to explain the reasons why she believed it was essential for the business sector to be accepting of differences: Because I have neurodivergent traits, I view the world from a unique perspective, and because of this, I always come prepared with a new set of eyes.

‘It’s what makes me unique. It’s ok to be different in a sea of the same- to be different means I stand out from the crowd.’
Shazia also acknowledged that the bao buns challenge was her favourite since it was the most relevant to her personal experience working in the business world.
‘I really enjoyed selling the dessert. I sold it as a fusion dessert which really relates to my business,’ she explained
Carrying on, the recruiter said: ‘I really enjoyed creating the dessert and the design of it was something very similar to my Gourmet Mithai deserts including the gold!’
Despite the fact that Shazia’s time on the show has come to an end, she is adamant in her belief that she should not have been eliminated because of her honesty and her capacity to ‘take responsibility for mistakes and [her] teams.
‘I think I demonstrated I’m honest, hardworking and have ideas that are memorable. I think that’s valuable and should count,’ were her departing words.
The Apprentice returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
