The Big Breakfast has come to an end but we aren’t ready to say goodbye.
Viewers are already demanding more of the reboot series, hosted by AJ Odudu and Mo Gilligan for a short four-week run.
Channel 4 revived the iconic morning show for a handful of summer specials this year, with celebrity guests including everyone from Love Island stars to footballers.
The final show in the run featured the ever iconic Gemma Collins, who was joined by comedian Russell Howard, supermodel Jourdan Dunn and former EastEnders legend Ross Kemp.
Packed with gross challenges, confessional interviews, and plenty of meme-worthy moments, the past four Saturday mornings have been nothing but joyful, with fans desperate to know if there’ll be more in future.
Taking to Twitter after the fourth episode finished, one person wrote: ‘What a ride #TheBigBreakfast has been in the past four weeks! Please let there be more soon!’.
Another declared it is ‘the best show on television in ages’, while another claimed it ‘only got better each week’.
‘Why is @Channel4 getting rid of #TheBigBreakfast it’s the best breakie prog on tv at the min!!!’, tweeted one person, saying how nice it was to have something ‘jokey’ back on their screen.
Summing up what we all think, an avid viewer shared: ‘Hope Channel 4 bring this back fully, reminding me of what Saturday morning TV used to be #TheBigBreakfast’.
The Big Breakfast first launched 20 years ago in 1992.
Originally, the show was presented by the likes of Richard Bacon, Kelly Brook and, of course, Johnny Vaughn and Denise Van Outen.
It ended in 2002 after almost 2,500 episodes, each one packed with absolute chaos.
The reboot series has certainly lived up to the legacy created all those years ago by the OG show, starting off strong with Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculoglu as guests, fresh out the Majorcan Love Island villa.
Following their win over Germany at the Euros, two of the Lionesses, Ella Toone and Alessia Russo, also appeared as guests, as did comedian and presenter Joel Dommett, rapper Aitch and chef Big Has.
The next three weeks would see Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe, EastEnders icon Shaun Williamson, Eurovision’s Sam Ryder, and Get Out actor Daniel Kaluuya join in on the madness, plus an appearance from former host Denise herself.
Channel 4 is yet to confirm whether The Big Breakfast will return, but we’re keeping all our fingers and toes crossed.
