Fans of The Chase that are hoping to see Shaun Wallace on Dancing on Ice or I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here are set to be disappointed – he’s ruled out doing any more reality TV.
The Chaser, who goes by The Dark Destroyer on the show, is a barrister by profession and admitted his day job is a large part of why he is selective with the TV work he agrees to.
Shaun, 62, told the Daily Star: ‘I do get the offers but I’m not a reality type of guy. I still practise as a barrister and there is a limit to what I will do.
‘The last reality-type challenge I did was Don’t Rock The Boat, and that was a physical challenge where myself and seven other celebs rowed the length of Britain.
‘I’ll do something like that but any other type of reality show is not really for me.’
Shaun revealed that he ‘probably’ would have done Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins if the offer had come in five years ago but wouldn’t be able to do it now due to problems with his knees.
While he is best known for being a Chaser on the quiz show, Shaun admitted he doesn’t take his fame for granted.
He revealed: ‘One thing I don’t do is take for granted being on The Chase but I’m a barrister first and foremost.
‘Yes, people recognise who I am – I can’t help that fact – but I can’t use my fame to get a required result. I can’t change the evidence. I’ve been a barrister for 38 years, a Chaser for 13 years.’
Other stars of The Chase have taken part in reality shows, including Anne Hegerty who took part in I’m A Celeb in 2018 and Jenny Ryan, who has done The X Factor: Celebrity and Celebrity Masterchef.
