The Most Hated Man on the Internet viewers slam ‘vile’ Hunter Moore and his ‘rotten’ followers: ‘He’s the lowest of scum’

True crime fans are gripped by Netflix’s newest docuseries, produced by the people behind The Tinder Swindler, but at the same time, they’re horrified at watching the scenes unfold of how ‘the most hated man on the internet’, also known as Hunter Moore, violated victims and created a revenge porn cult following.

The Most Hated Man on the Internet follows how IsAnyoneUp.com founder Hunter Moore, and his notorious website were brought to justice by his victims, including underage women and ex-girlfriends.

Dubbed the ‘King of revenge porn’, Moore published pictures of his victims on his website, and in some instances refused to take them down, before was eventually forced to sell the site’s domain name to an anti-bullying group.

At the lead of the fight was Charlotte Laws, a mother who was willing to take Moore down – and succeeded, as she worked with Moore’s victims to take down their pictures and videos from the website, and shut it down entirely.

As shown in the documentary, which uses footage of Moore speaking about his victims, his site, and how he wants to make money from ‘f***ing people over’, Moore knew he had the power to violate people’s privacy, and to some extent, he almost thought he’d gotten away with it.

In his own words, he was a ‘professional life ruiner’.

Viewers have been left horrified after watching the docuseries, with one writing: ‘8 minutes into The Most Hated Man on the Internet and I have had enough of the filth that is humanity for today. Hunter Moore is unrepentant; thinks his years in jail is penance enough for ruining the lives of so many women. This misogynist scum and his followers shouldn’t exist.’

Someone else wrote: ‘I didn’t realise how vile Hunter Moore was until watching The Most Hated Man on the Internet,’ while a third person commented: ‘The fact that to this day Hunter Moore isn’t even slightly remorseful is insanely scary to me. He’s proud of what he did. There’s people who still support him despite him hacking peoples accounts and uploading nude photos of them online to humiliate them? so messed up.’

At the same time, many viewers took to praising ‘hero’ Laws for her work in bringing Moore down.

‘Watching #TheMostHatedManOnTheInternet and @CharlotteLaws is amazing, what a Mum, she should be given every award going, she is a hero! Hunter Moore is the lowest of the scum,’ one viewer wrote.

Another penned: ‘Charlotte Laws you are amazing. I wish to have your courage and determination to go against misogynistic bullies like Hunter Moore.’

While The Most Hated Man on the Internet features plenty of real interviews from those involved, Moore himself is only seen from old footage, although he was originally meant to be a part of the series, before pulling out.

Producers revealed: ‘When we were developing it, he initially agreed to take part, but then decided not to.’

Producer Vikki Miller added: ‘When Hunter pulled out, I was initially disappointed but then I completely changed my mind and am so glad we ended up telling it through Charlotte Laws’ narrative.’

The Most Hated Man on the Internet is available to watch on Netflix.
