Sad news, The Office US fans, the sitcom is officially leaving Netflix and heading over to from the new year.
Steve Carell took over Ricky Gervais’ David Brent, playing the iconic and outrageous Michael Scott.
But now, after 120 episodes since March 2025, the fan favourite is leaving the streaming giant, although UK fans can still catch it on Amazon Prime, and Sky TV.
The Office will also be removed from Netflix in France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belgium, and Poland on December 31.

Space Force
This one’s for you Carell fans, as his new comedy drama features Lisa Kudrow and John Malkovich and there’s just two seasons to get through.
The synopsis reads: ‘A four-star general begrudgingly teams up with an eccentric scientist to get the U.S. military’s newest agency — Space Force — ready for lift-off.’
Although it failed to get renewed for season three, Space Force still managed a respectable 75% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Superstore
The sitcom following the lives of employees at a Cloud 9 store in St Louis, including Amy (America Ferrera), Jonah (Ben Feldman), Dina (Lauren Ash) and co.
Not only is it a workplace drama just like The Office, but it was also created by The Office’s Justin Spitzer.
Sadly, Cloud 9 closed its doors at the end of the sixth and final season, but that still gives us plenty of episodes to binge through on Netflix.
The IT Crowd
Back in 2006, computers were still novelties and IT departments were a big part of companies who were looking to pivot completely to digital.
Enter the IT crowd, a British sitcom that follows actors Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson, and Matt Berry in their day-to-day lives in the IT department for the fictional Reynholm Industries.
The show’s tone – dreary office life – was lifted from The Office and magnified. There’s also the theme of boredom in the every day, and settling for something less than, which The Office fans will recognise in Tim’s character.
Parks and Recreation
In case you’ve not already watched Parks and Recreation, it’s sure to be top of your list and even has the unofficial Office seal, as it was co-created by Michael Schur, who played Dwight’s cousin Mose in The Office US.
Leslie Knope is the blundering bureaucrat in an Indiana Parks and Recs department, and the show follows her attempts to climb the career ladder whilst still maintaining her soul.
The series features Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott and Aziz Ansari – to name a few.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Schur also created Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a hilarious police sit-com that follows every hiccup in the 99th Precinct of the New York City Police Department in Brooklyn.
The series unfortunately came to an end last year, but has been widely praised for its balance of slapstick comedy and harder hitting subjects.

New Girl
It’s been more than a decade since Jessica Day burst onto our TV screens, singing, dancing and crafting her way into the friendship group at the core of New Girl.
The sitcom, which starred Zooey Deschanel as a school teacher called Jess who moves into a loft with three men she’s never met before, premiered in September 2011 before drawing to a close in May 2018.
While much of the magic of New Girl is down to the stellar writing, some of the fun interactions between the actors that made the final cut were actually down to improv.
According to Winston star Lamorne, about a fifth of the show was improvised, he told the Chicago Sun-Times in 2013.
‘I would say that 20 percent [of each episode] is improv,’ he said at the time, adding that he and his co-stars would ‘goof off in between every take’. We love them more and more every day.
