The Peripheral is the latest sci-fi drama to be gripping fans as they follow Chloë Grace Moretz’s character descending into an online game that puts her family in grave danger.
The Amazon Prime series, which landed on Friday, see Flynne Fisher (Chloë) and her brother Burton (Jack Reynor) earning some extra cash as avatars to pay for their mother’s medical bills.
During the challenging game, which is set in London, Flynne is tasked with breaking into a corporation known as the Research Institute to steal a valuable secret.
But the mission goes terribly wrong, with Flynne realising what she has stolen from the shady organisation has made her a target as forces become intent on killing her and her family.
Made by the creators of Westworld, the tense drama is adapted from William Gibson’s novel of the same name and has been met with acclaim so far.

Who is in the cast of The Peripheral?
As well as Chloë, who made her name in Kick-Ass, and previously dated Brooklyn Beckham, the series stars Jack Reynor as her brother.
Fans will recognise the Irish actor from Transformers: Age of Extinction and Midsommer, which he starred in alongside Florence Pugh.
Gary Carr plays Wilf Netherton, who could be the key to unlocking the mystery and lives in London in the future.
The actor is known for playing main roles in Death in Paradise and The Deuce, as well as for being Jack Ross in Downton Abbey.
Also in the UK’s capital in 2099 is Aelita West, who is portrayed by Charlotte Riley.
Charlotte, who is married to Tom Hardy, was in ITV’s Wuthering Heights, Press and Peaky Blinders.
Meanwhile, Aelita and Wilf’s associates are played by JJ Feild, Julian Moore-Cook and Katie Leung.
JJ, who is Lev Zubov in The Peripheral, featured in Captain America: The First Avenger, while Ossian actor Julian Moore-Cook starred in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
Harry Potter fans will remember Katie, who plays Ash, as the wizard’s first love interest.
Finally, T’Nia Miller is Cherise Nuland, having worked on Russell T Davies’ Years and Years and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
How to watch The Peripheral
The Peripheral premiered on Amazon Prime Video today (Friday October, 21), with the first two episodes being made available.
From next week an episode will land every Friday until the final instalment on December 2.
