The Lord of The Rings prequel The Rings of Power is finally coming to Amazon Prime Video this week and trust us when we say there is officially nothing more terrifying than the new orcs.
The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before Frodo Baggins made his pilgrimage to the deepest darkest depth of Mordor and is quite the sight to behold.
Which, you know, you’d expect from the most expensive series of all time, estimated to have cost $1billion (£857m).
However be warned: The Rings of Power is genuinely petrifying with the orcs far creepier than anything seen in the Peter Jackson blockbuster trilogy.
Each performer under the beastly costume had to spend over eight hours in make-up every single day and the result is wild.
The Rings of Power cast members Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Ema Horvath and Lloyd Owen – who star as Queen Mireil, Earien and Elendi respectively – were actually confronted by the monsters face to face, but not under the circumstances you’d expect.
‘I saw one once in the parking lot which is hilarious,’ Cynthia told us.

‘You see someone in very extensive make-up with someone holding their hand.
‘These incredible performers who do this creature work and it is a very particular skill set but when you’re standing up close to a performer with all that make-up on and you don’t see the performer, in person it’s shocking.’
Ema added: ‘Some of them were our friends too, it was like “Oh it’s Rob.”

‘You get a visceral reaction to it,’ said Lloyd. ‘Which is rejection ultimately. “I don’t want to be around that.”.’
The first two episodes of Rings of Power will finally drop this coming Friday with new episodes coming weekly.
Trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
Rings of Power is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from Friday.
