Amanda Lovett from The Traitors has said that Tom Elderfield’s magic tricks didn’t really impress her when they were in the castle.
Amanda was a Traitor, so she was kicked out of the game on Tuesday. Tom, on the other hand, was a Faithful, but the other players thought he was a Traitor, so he was kicked out too, even though he was trying to save his girlfriend Alex Gray from the same fate.
During their time on the show, Tom and Alex caused a stir when they said they were dating behind the other players’ backs and hadn’t told them.
Amanda told us an exclusive story about her time on Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery game. She said, “There were a few surprises in there,” referring to Tom and Alex’s confession that they were dating and Maddy Smedley’s admission that she used to be an EastEnders actress.
But one of the biggest surprises for Amanda was finding out that Tom is a famous magician, since his tricks in the castle didn’t impress her.

‘Oh it was so funny with Tom, because he is a famous magician isn’t he,’ Amanda began.
‘He had these horrible sweatpants on one day and he was saying to me, he was showing me a trick with his thumb, and I thought, “Oh bless him I’m not going to tell him now that my family can do that trick”, so I just said to him, I said, “Tom I don’t know if it’s the career for you.”
‘And he said, “Oh why is that?” and I said, “Because my family can do tricks like that.”
‘But I didn’t know his best friend is Dynamo!’
Amanda added: ‘I felt so sorry for him with his red tracksuit bottoms on. I thought he’s not making any money here, shall we do a collection for him.
‘And there he is, a famous magician!’
Tom is a magician who has done shows all over the world, like Ultimate Magic Skills. During his time on the show, he used his skills of manipulation, but he never guessed that Amanda was one of the Traitors.

After his elimination, he told us: ‘In the first ever roundtable, for about an hour, everyone is coding the other person, and I had no idea, and the moment Nicky’s name was dropped honestly it hit me quite hard, because she is super lovely and I was getting close to her, and I even said I don’t care if she’s a Faithful or a Traitor, I want her to win.
‘Writing Nicky on that board to blend in with the herd is so much easier said than done, and it was from that moment that I would never, ever have guessed Amanda.
‘Because there was no way I was putting another mother on that board. I felt awful, I felt really, really bad.’
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
