During last night’s episode of The Traitors on BBC One, Kieran Tompsett delivered the nail in the coffin for Wilfred Webster’s demise when he was voted as the latest player to be banished.
Kieran, 42, announced at the roundtable that he was giving a ‘parting gift’ as he voted for Wilf, 28, as the person he believed was a Traitor, knowing full well that he was and that he would plant a seed in doubt in the other contestants’ minds.
Following Kieran’s banishment and reveal as a Traitor, the writing was on the wall for Wilf, who was later voted by his fellow three finalists to be eliminated, securing their joint win.
Despite it appearing as though there could have been bad blood between Kieran and Wilf given how the drama unfolded in the grand finale, the former has congratulated the latter on how extraordinarily he played the game from the start, having fooled everyone into thinking that he was a Faithful.
‘Can we give a moment for this Man,’ the businessman tweeted alongside a promo shot of Wilf on the show.
‘Made the best TV in years, without him the show would not be as good as it was! Epic battle.’

He also added: ‘Wilfred you were a worthy opponent thank you for the memories!’
Following the result of the final, Kieran also congratulated Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams on their joint win, having bagged a jackpot of more than £100,000.
‘Thank you for the best experience, I’ve met friends for life!’ he tweeted.
‘Perfect ending to the show 🎭❤️ congratulations to the winners and fair play to Wilf.’
Several people responded to Kieran by expressing how shocked and entertained they were by his ‘parting gift’ statement, with one tweeting: ‘That “parting gift”. Was just chefs kiss.’
‘You both did what you needed to do and were both brilliant, resulting in the best TV yet,’ someone else said, while another wrote: ‘Fully agree, you all played the game well but Wilf played it like a pantomime villain and played it true the name of the show which in turn made it a must see show.’
‘Amazing ending – chuffed to see you cotton on. Though I had wanted our traitors to win until I saw you switch!’ one person tweeted.
‘Hannah’s reaction when Wilf is revealed as a traitor needs to win the BAFTA must see moment of the year,’ another remarked.
The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
