Maddy Smedley, a Traitors legend, has landed a role in a big Channel 4 comedy series.
The EastEnders actress, 31, will portray Sally, a university newcomer, in two episodes of Big Boys’ second season.
Maddy, who recently delivered her first kid, announced the news on X with a photo of herself in costume – pink shorts and a matching T-shirt – with a camera operator behind the scenes.
She also shared an image of a direct message she wrote to the show’s creator, Jack Rooke, asking for a role and including a link to her acting resume.
Maddy captioned the post: ‘Meet Sally, a fresher in series 2 of big boys! I was actually 6 months pregnant here!
‘Appearing in ep 2 and 4 (so don’t blink during those eps lol) – also here’s a message I sent to the writer Jack 5 years ago… god loves a hustler xx.’
Big lads follows two mismatched lads, Jack (Dylan Llewellyn) and Danny (Jon Pointing), who form an odd relationship at university.
Maddy has appeared in various TV shows, including BBC One’s Casualty and EastEnders, where she played a homeless woman named Rita.
She’s also teased a return to Albert Square, revealing previously: ‘I’d love to be in EastEnders again, I loved working with them.
‘It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, I grew up watching the show’.

Meanwhile, The Traitors will return for a second season in the New Year following a great debut.
While specifics are being withheld for the time being, host Claudia Winkleman has announced a significant narrative surprise for the show’s second season.
Claudia was asked for indications on what’s new in a Q&A before of the show’s launch.
‘I wish I could,’ she replied. ‘I think I’m allowed to say the armoury has gone and now there’s a kitchen. That’s it!’
