The Voice US coach John Legend is kept busy mentoring the next generation of aspiring musicians, but it seems he had some extra support on hand when his two kids visited him on set.
Over the past seven seasons of the reality singing competition, John has been acting as one of the four coaches, currently alongside Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Camila Cabello.
But he’s only won the show once, back in 2019 with Maeyln Jarmon, so it seems he might have switched up his strategy.
Posting a throwback photo of his kids on set, John captioned the post: ‘The last time they came to the Voice (pre-pandemic!)’.
It might have simply bring your kids to work day at the time, but judging by the look on Luna’s face, she wasn’t there to mess around.
Instead, she put her hand over her dad’s mouth, maybe to get him to listen to her advice on which singer he should back.
Meanwhile Miles had completely lost attention and was looking like he wanted to be anywhere else, or maybe he was deeply contemplating his advice to his dad.
However a few years on they have visited again and look ready to tackle the job at hand.
‘My biggest fans (until they’re too cool to think I’m cool) came to @nbcthevoice! They’re definitely voting for #TeamLege,’ John wrote.
The duo appeared to bring some luck with them, with all of Legend’s singers saved by the public during Tuesday night’s episode.
Missing from the photo though was John’s wife Chrissy Teigen, who is currently expecting the couple’s third child.
After the devastating loss of their son Jack in 2020, the couple announced they were pregnant again in August.
‘The kids are excited, we are all excited and can’t wait to welcome this new baby into the world,’ Chrissy said at the time.
Two years after they medically terminated Jack over devastating pregnancy complications, John has also said they are already thinking about adding to their growing family, but that it was something he was still unsure of.
‘Chrissy, I think, wants more,’ he said in September.
‘I’m one of four, so I’m cool with it. I was like, once you get into that zone it’s a lot of folks – especially when you’re traveling, [it] gets difficult.
‘Chrissy and I, we get on a lot of planes together and once you have four kids, it gets logistically – it gets complicated.’
The Voice airs on NBC in the United States.
