Vanessa Feltz has addressed rumours. Phillip Schofield is getting ready to go into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2023.
The former This Morning host has been extensively reported to be among the celebs travelling to Australia alongside Ant and Dec, with fans anxiously awaiting the complete lineup’s announcement.
Phil might be appearing on I’m A Celeb, according to rumours. The This Morning anchor departed the show after lying about an affair with a teenage runner, which he said was ‘unwise but not illegal,’ and then vehemently disputed that he had ‘groomed’ the runner.
Last year’s series featured former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who was discovered to be having an affair with a colleague during the Covid-19 outbreak, during which the British population was advised not to leave their homes or have any contact with anybody who were not in their bubble.
The lawmaker, who resigned as Health Secretary over the crisis and was later suspended as an MP for appearing on I’m A Celeb 2022, made it to the final three.
Rumours about who may be joining the 2023 I’m A Celeb roster have already begun to circulate, with some suggesting Phil could make his first major television appearance since the affair.
Vanessa, a TalkTV personality who has featured often on This Morning and is a friend of Phillip’s, offered her opinion on the allegations on Wednesday.
At the London Lifestyle Awards, she was questioned if she had heard the rumours, and she flatly denied them.
‘I don’t know anything about it at all but I would be absolutely flabbergasted if that were true,’ she admitted.
She urged people to ‘put your money on him going nowhere near the place’ – and on theories he could enter Big Brother next year, said ‘absolutely not.’
Vanessa had much higher hopes for politician Nigel Farage to appear on I’m A Celeb, saying he could even win the series outright as he’s a ‘very charming man… whether you agree with his politics or not.’
‘He’s entertaining, he’s funny, he’s got a lot of charm,’ she went on, adding jokingly the jungle was ‘the best place for him.’
While the actual cast of 2023 has yet to be released, former Ukip leader Nigel, who has previously been invited to feature, might be making his debut, since he acknowledged he was in negotiations with producers.
‘Unlike previous years, I am giving it very, very serious consideration,’ Farage said on his GB News broadcast on Monday night.
‘Why? Well you’ve got about 10million young people who watch that programme. These are people who don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures, and actually, in many ways, the futures of young people in Britain had been blighted.
‘They haven’t got the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had and they’d love to look for solutions.’
He continued: ‘So in my mind, if I was to do it, I might be able to connect with that audience, because goodness me they all watch I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Disgruntled fans quickly took to social media, with some threatening to boycott this year’s I’m A Celeb if Nigel is cast as a celebrity.
Lioness icon Jill Scott was named Queen of the Jungle after winning last year’s series.
Katie Price‘s ex Danny Cipriani, The Apprentice’s Thomas Skinner, Denise Van Outen, and This Morning babe Josie Gibson, according to insiders, have all signed up for the 2018 season.
