Tiger King star Tim Stark has lambasted the Netflix series claiming that they ‘used him’ and ‘destroyed him’.
Former zoo owner Stark appeared in both the first and second documentary, and in the former, he was seen joining forces with Jeff Lowe to build a new zoo together in Oklahoma.
However, disaster struck when the animals he was transporting from Joe Exotic’s former zoo died after being left in a truck overnight.
Following the original show, Stark went on the run after he was accused of hiding animals set to be confiscated, however, was arrested in New York in 2020.
One year later, he was banned from owning any exotic animals.
Stark’s former wildlife facility, Wildlife In Need, was put under the spotlight in the second season of Tiger King with WHAS-TV’s investigation into his business.
Speaking about his involvement in the series, Stark said: ‘You try to trust people. You’re kind of excited about what is happening and think ‘what the hell, I’ll show my life’.
‘But they have a way of brainf***ing you and telling you what to do to try to make you be the character they want you to be.’
‘They used me just to destroy me,’ he continued to Mirror Online. ‘They were under a contract for Tiger King and had to produce a Tiger King 2 and since they already had me on a lot of footage, they decided to use me to show, you know, “another psycho idiot that had animals”.’
Stark’s legal issues have been heavily documented in recent years, and he previously represented himself in the courts against animal welfare charity Peta.
He insists that he’ll keep fighting to clear his name, although he believes too much damage has already been done to his reputation.
‘I just want to see justice,’ he added. ‘I’ll never get my name back. They’ve already destroyed me and ruined my name. With social media the way it is, if you Google me, I look like a piece of s***.’
