Davina McCall has apparently been hired in a cameo role in Doctor Who’s forthcoming Christmas special.
The former Big Brother presenter, 55, is expected to play herself in the BBC sci-fi thriller, with a scenario including a Christmas tree falling on her head.
The Masked Singer judge would appear in the Christmas episode alongside the fifteenth doctor Ncuti Gatwa and his new companion Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.
It would not be Davina’s first appearance in Doctor Who, as she previously voiced Davinadroid in a 2005 episode of the long-running series.
A source told The Sun: ‘The Christmas special is a huge deal for the BBC — this year especially so, as it’s Ncuti and Millie’s first.
‘The Davina storyline is one element of the big festive episode on the table.’
The latest season of Doctor Who will also include RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon as the doctor’s’most formidable nemesis yet’ and Neil Patrick Harris from How I Met Your Mother.
Yasmin Finney, a heartbreaker, and Am I Being Unreasonable? Lenny Rush has also been cast in parts.
Three special episodes will run in November to commemorate the show’s 60th anniversary before Ncuti’s debut as the Doctor in December.
David Tennant, 52, will reprise his role as the Doctor for the third and last time for the specials, in what he calls a “victory lap.”
The actor played the Doctor from 2005 until 2010, then returned for a special five years later.
The series’ most recent reboot features It’s A Sin writer Russell T Davies, the man behind the long-running BBC show’s 2005 reboot, returns as showrunner, following Chris Chibnall, who introduced Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor.
Speaking about the sci-fi show returning in November 2023, Russell said: ‘The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet.
‘Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna and disaster about to be unleashed!’
Doctor Who will air on the BBC in the UK and Ireland, while streaming platform Disney+ will show episodes to audiences elsewhere.
