Vanessa Feltz was enraged to learn that unhealthy meal deals are due to be prohibited in Wales in an effort to combat obesity in the country.
New legislation will make it more difficult for unhealthy foods with high fat, sugar, and salt content to be sold in supermarkets, making these goods less accessible to the general population.
Those who enjoy the sandwich, snack, and drink combo earlier dubbed the law “the craziest idea ever.”
Vanessa from Celebs Go Dating seemed to agree.
During her appearance on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle, Vanessa went on a rampage about the subject, criticising guest Matthew Wright’s remarks.
‘I’m against it, although I know my colleague here is very much in support, but I’m utterly opposed to this,’ said the 61-year-old.

‘I don’t like grown-ups telling other grown-ups what to eat, I don’t like grown-ups conspiring against other adults who may be on a limited budget and saying you can’t have what you might want to.
‘I just don’t like people dictating to other adults what they should do, I don’t like it.’
Matthew chimed in: ‘We do already do that with alcohol and cigarettes, and yet the damage alcohol and cigarettes cost the country is marginal compared to the damage obesity costs the country.’
He went on to say that the law was proposed in England, but the government decided against it due to the high expense of living.
Vanessa then passionately said: ‘As the only person on this sofa who has really battled a really serious weight problem all my life so I really do know much too much about this, I really wish I didn’t, it won’t stop people eating the food.

‘Because when you want to eat something fried, or sugary or fattening or a treat that’s sweet or whatever it is, it’s not even about the budget.
‘You will not eat the salad, you won’t have the meat or the fish, you’ll go for the trifle.’
Vanessa continued her impassioned diatribe, ignoring Matthew’s objections, and began to yell over him, before he proceeded with facts regarding the sugar tax.
‘I just think when you’re an adult, and when that’s what you want to do and that’s what you’re craving eating, because it’s a deep psychological need.
‘It’s not because you’re hungry, it’s because you want the comfort, you want the diversion, you want something from it that isn’t just food and nothing will cut it, so you’ll go without something else to eat.
‘I do think so, I don’t think you can stop someone by charging them for it.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
