Victoria Beckham has admitted to crying at the last sequence of David’s Netflix documentary, Beckham, in which her husband tried to keep his emotions at bay.
The four-part documentary, which premiered in October, provided an intimate look at showbiz’s all-time power couple, using archive footage from their early days together and star-studded interviews.
Along with following their fairy-tale romance and how their family grew as their careers plummeted into fame, the Netflix docuseries also looked back at how Becks was left’clinically depressed’ and some of the tougher times in their marriage, including claims he had an affair with former glamour model Rebecca Loos.
‘It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest,’ Victoria, 49, says at one point.
However, the video concludes on a bright note, with a heartwarming footage that has since gone viral of Posh and Becks dancing to Islands in the Stream after showing them laughing with their children, including oldest Brooklyn and daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz.
And watching the scene back had Victoria in tears.
Speaking to Allure, she said: ‘I cried when I saw the last scene of the documentary. It was an emotional experience.
‘Then when you look at our journey and us dancing [to “Islands in the Stream”] in the tent…’
She elsewhere admitted that their youngest Cruz had ‘no idea’ his dad was so good at football until seeing the documentary, which delved into Beckham’s career highs and lows.
In the final scene of the doc, a teary David says: ‘One of the things which is the most important thing to me is what we’ve got.’
Victoria replies: ‘Why I feel happy now is I feel really content now, and I get that sense that you feel content now.
‘When we were younger you were constantly chasing and there’s an element of you’re passing the baton on a little, and you want that for your kids, wouldn’t you say.’
‘Yeah, I’m not ready to pass the baton on yet,’ he says.
Proud dad David elsewhere admits he’s in awe of his family, saying: ‘We have tried to give our children the most normal upbringing as possible.
‘But you have got a dad who was England captain and a mum that was Posh Spice. And they could be little s***s and they are not.
‘That’s why I say I am so proud of my children and I am so in awe of my children the way they have turned out.’
Following a journey to retrace both the highs and lows of his time in the spotlight, Victoria may be following in his footsteps with her own documentary.
According to previous rumours, the designer wants to go from being in a girl band to starting her own fashion and cosmetics business.
According to The Sun, the documentary will explore how she developed her fashion and cosmetics business from the ground up, as well as ‘personal life components’ and cameos from celebrity pals.
The insider said: ‘At times her journey wasn’t easy, and there will be a blood, sweat and tears look behind the scenes at the sheer graft she has put into reinventing herself.
‘Off the back of David’s success, and how well she came across, people will also see, in depth, her wit and sarcasm.’
Beckham is available to watch on Netflix.
