Warning: spoilers ahead for Wednesday season 1.
Jenna Ortega, actress of Wednesday, has weighed in on who her character’s mysterious stalker from the season one finale could be, as crazy fan speculations continue to circulate on social media.
The protagonist character is being taken home in the family car by their butler Lurch (George Burcea) in the final episode of the Addams Family spin-off, which will return for season 2 when she receives a series of ominous messages on her new phone, which was handed to her by her buddy Xavier (Percy Hynes White).
The mystery person explains that they’ve been keeping a careful eye on Wednesday, photographing her when she was with Xavier and Tyler.
They texted her, ‘I’m watching you,’ with a side-eye emoji, as well as an animated version of herself being stabbed in the head.
There has been a lot of conjecture about who the unnamed person could be, with fans trying to figure out who was in the background when the photographs of Wednesday, Tyler, and Xavier were taken.

Jenna, 20, addressed the problem in a recent interview, noting that when she filmed the sequence, she hadn’t given it any thought.
‘Honestly, I have no idea. I’ve gotten that question a couple times now, and I’m so confused,’ she admitted to Digital Spy.
‘I always assumed that it was either Miss Thornhill [Christina Ricci] or Tyler and… I don’t know. Maybe there’s another member of the Gates family that’s still alive or maybe it has no correlation whatsoever.
‘I’m not sure, but I didn’t even question it on the set. I just did it. So I’m curious to know.’
Miss Thornhill, the botany teacher at Nevermore Academy, was discovered on Wednesday to be Laurel Gates, a descendent of the bloodthirsty founder of Jericho, Joseph Crackstone.
Tyler, who turned out to be a Hyde, had been under Laurel’s influence and had committed several killings on her orders.
Both Laurel and Tyler were captured by the end of the series, thus Jenna’s notion that another member of the Gates family exists is one to explore.

Fans have also thrown other names into the mix as probable contenders for the stalker, including Wednesday’s best friend Enid (Emma Myers), with some theorising that it may lead to a ‘huge betrayal plot twist’.
Some speculated that it may be Xavier, given that Wednesday first suspected him of being the Hyde – but others pointed out that he was left severely distraught at the smallest charge of being on the wrong side.
Meanwhile, another viewer wrote: ‘O really want Wednesday’s stalker to be someone completely random…
It’ll be a long before we know for sure, so keep those theories coming!
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
