The Twelve
This Australian addition to the jury drama genre takes us into the private lives of the selected jurors, lives which turn out to be just as mixed up as the artist standing trial for the murder of her niece. Sam Neill steals the show as a smooth defence lawyer with a cool line in sharp put-downs.
Series available tomorrow
Disney+
Alaska Daily
Hilary Swank is at her most feisty in this role as a hotshot journalist who falls from grace after blaming a story on a shady source. Before you can say “hold the back page,” she’s back on a local newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska, where she started.
Episodes one and two available now, new episodes Wednesdays.
Prime Video
Star Trek: Picard
Patrick Stewart’s appearances are unpredictable; one minute he’s promoting Yorkshire tea, the next he’s… back in the Star Trek world, which feels much more like his natural home. Picard’s third and last appearance promises the reunion of a slew of famous characters for a cosmic farewell.
Episode one available Friday.
AppleTV+
Hello Tomorrow!
This funny future thriller stars Billy Crudup as a shady salesperson who preys on people’s hopes.
Episodes one to three available Friday, then weekly.
Netflix
Full Swing
Full Swing might be the title of any number of witty plays, so it’s a surprise to learn we’re talking about golf here. It’s an eight-hole, sorry series, behind-the-scenes journey through the 2022 season, as the fierce conflict between the all-powerful US PGA and Saudi-backed upstarts LIV drove a wedge straight through the sport. Flicked shirts on hand.
