When Red Nose Day 2023 approaches, it will soon be time to don a renowned Red Nose in the cause of Comic Relief.
Red Nose Day is an event aimed to help eradicate child poverty in the United Kingdom and throughout the world through fundraising activities and television programmes that raise funds to keep children safe, healthy, and educated.
A slew of celebrities have already agreed to host and perform on the night, while BBC Morning Live’s Gethin Jones will take part in a 24-hour danceathon to generate funds for the event.
Emma Willis, Oti Mabuse, and Rylan will travel across the Scottish highlands to raise funds tonight (March 14), and their experience will be shown on BBC One at 9 p.m.
But when is Red Nose Day in 2023?
This is all you need to know about this year’s charity event.
When is Red Nose Day 2023?
This year, Red Nose Day is on Friday, March 17, 2023.

As is customary on Friday nights, some of the biggest stars in music, cinema, sports, and television will come together for an evening of entertainment – all for a good cause!
The funds generated from this year’s event will be used to assist those experiencing a cost-of-living crisis, as well as to address challenges such as homelessness and food insecurity.
Which celebrities are involved in this year’s Red Nose Day?
This year, AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett will present the live TV event on BBC One, featuring Zoe Ball, Paddy McGuiness, and David Tennant.
This year’s performance will feature an appearance by global superstar Kylie Minogue in a special edition of BBC sitcom Ghosts, as well as a spoof of reality show Love Island.
A celebrity edition of the iconic BBC series The Traitors will also air, and one of the country’s most renowned comedic characters, Baldrick, will read his very own ‘Blackadder’ Bedtime Story.
Some celebrities, like Amanda Holden and BBC Radio One broadcaster Greg James, have already wore this year’s innovative new nose shape to demonstrate their support for Comic Relief.
This year’s event earned an astonishing £42,790,147 for the charity, and organisers want to surpass that figure in 2023.
Where can you buy a Red Nose?
This year, you may purchase a Red Nose via the Comic Relief website or Amazon, the Red Nose’s new home.
Sir Jony Ive, the designer of some of Apple’s most sought-after products, created this year’s Nose.
It is nearly completely composed of plant-based components and begins as a little crescent before expanding into a spherical when opened.
Discussing his design, Sir Jony said: ‘We’ve grown up with Comic Relief and are proud to support their remarkable work.
‘This new and seemingly simple Red Nose has been a fabulously complex little object to design and make and has involved our entire team. We hope it brings a little moment of joy to everyone who wears one.’
Red Nose Day 2023 airs on Friday, March 17, on BBC One.
