Ant and Dec have confirmed the date of the first elimination for I’m A Celebrity as viewers will be wondering if Matt Hancock will be booted out of the jungle.
The disgraced politician is camping alongside the likes of Boy George and Mike Tindall in the Australian jungle and has been subjected to six consecutive Bushtucker trials.
The MP’s decision to sign up for the ITV series has been met with fierce criticism from the likes of Covid-19 charities, while he has also been slammed for banding his constituents during a cost-of-living crisis.
But will he be the first to be sent packing back to the UK?
While programme bosses haven’t yet revealed when the public will first get to vote out a campmate, on Thursday’s instalment Ant and Dec revealed the inaugural elimination is imminent.
Dec announced at the end of the episode that the campmate with the fewest votes will leave the Australian camp at the end of Friday’s episode, with the public vote already open.

It was also announced that Culture Club star Boy George and Loose Women presenter Charlene White have been voted to take part in the next Bushtucker trial titled Watery Grave.
According to BritishGambler.co.uk, Boy George, not Hancock, is actually the favourite for first elimination, as his odds have ducked from 10/1 to just 3/1.

A spokesperson for BritishGambler.co.uk said: ‘Although Scarlette Douglas and Charlene White have been the bookmakers’ early favourites to be the first campmates to be voted out, it now appears that it may be Boy George who will leave the jungle first. Over the last few days, Boy George hasn’t done much to help himself in terms of impressing the public, who in the end, decides who stays and who goes.
‘At the end of the day, this show is a popularity contest as it’s the people who decides the winner. And as we’ve seen on social media, many fans are getting quite worked up by Boy George’s behaviour, which has triggered talk about his past conviction, amongst other things. As it stands, 57% of bets have been on Boy George to be the first to leave.’

Meanwhile, Coral Bookmakers have said Charlene is the favourite to leave the jungle in the first elimination.
Her odds are evens while Hancock’s odds are 4/1, with a spokesperson for Coral saying: ‘Charlene has possibly struggled to catch the public’s imagination as much as some of the other celebs this year, and as a result she’s a short-price to be the first celebrity eliminated from the jungle this year.’
I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm on ITV.
