This year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing has been spectacular to say the least, with last week’s episode seeing the 2022 contestants performing routines inspired by beloved movies.
Tonight, couples including Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin; Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe; Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima; and Tony Adams and Katya Jones will return to the dancefloor once more.
The Strictly dancefloor is an iconic sight on British TV, as is the Glitterball Trophy that the competitors are all hoping they’ll win by the time the end of the competition comes around.
But do you know where the programme is actually filmed, rather than simply appearing like magic every Saturday evening on BBC One?
Here’s what you need to know.
Where is Strictly Come Dancing filmed?
Strictly Come Dancing is now filmed at Elstree Studios, which is located in Borehamwood, London.

However, that isn’t where the show has always taken place.
Strictly moved over to Elstree Studios in 2013, having previously been filmed at BBC Television Studio from the first season, which premiered in 2004.
In the first two series of the show, episodes were also filmed at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
Wembley Arena also hosted the show in 2011 and 2012, while of course, the opportunity to perform at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool has now become a coveted opportunity for the contestants (except when doing so couldn’t happen amid Covid-19 restrictions).
What time is Strictly Come Dancing on tonight?
Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
After the programme has aired live, it will be available to watch on catch-up on the BBC’s streaming platform.

When is the Strictly results show?
The results show for Strictly is shown on Sundays, with this week’s airing from 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
So far two celebrities have been eliminated from Strictly 2022 – Loose Women star Kaye Adams, who was partnered with Kai Widdrington; and radio personality Richie Anderson, who danced with Giovanni Pernice.
So who will be the third celebrity to exit after a public vote and decision made by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke?
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
