Warning: spoilers ahead for The Last of Us episode 4.
The Last of Us episode 4 threw numerous curveballs to Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), who were stuck in an exceedingly perilous Kansas City.
After leaving the house of Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett), the duo is ambushed while driving through dangerous streets, with Joel shooting the individuals who tried to harm them.
His murders are found by Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey), the head of a revolutionary organisation in the area, who is looking for two persons named Henry (Lamar Johnson) and Sam (Keivonn Montreal Woodard).
So, who are they, and did they appear in the video game?
Who are Henry and Sam in The Last of Us and who plays them?
Kathleen is found in the TV series to be on a quest to hunt and kill two persons, Henry and Sam.
She suspects Joel is working in cooperation with the individuals she’s following after discovering a trail of dead victims that Joel has slain.
It’s not apparent why Kathleen has a bone, or several, to pick with Henry and Sam, but she makes it clear that she’s out for blood and isn’t going down without a fight.
Lamar Johnson, 28, plays Henry and has previously been in films such as The Hate U Give, All the Bright Places, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Bryan Cranston’s Your Honor.
Keivonn Montreal Woodard, who is Deaf like the character he plays, plays Henry’s younger brother, Sam.
When Lamar and Keivonn were cast, their tale was described as follows: ‘Lamar Johnson as Henry and Keivonn Woodard as Sam, brothers in Kansas City hiding from a revolutionary organisation seeking vengeance.’
Are Henry and Sam in The Last of Us video game?
Henry and Sam do appear in the video game, as played by Brandon Scott and Nadji Jeter in the first instalment.
While they meet Joel and Ellie in Kansas City in the TV programme, the party of four meets in Pittsburgh in the game, where they work together to stay out of the hands of hunters and infected.
While there might be bad blood between Kathleen and Henry in the TV show, following the release of episode four, Kathleen actor Melanie tweeted: ‘@LamarJohnsonn is a superstar and an amazing actor.’
He then responded: ‘Thank you for your kind words Melanie. It was such a pleasure! I am excited for everyone to meet Kathleen.’
The Last of Us is available to watch on Sky and NOW, with new episodes released on Mondays.
