After initially taking over on an interim basis, Colin Murray has now been designated as the permanent host of Countdown following Anne Robinson’s retirement.
Former Weakest Link contestant Anne, 77, announced her departure from the Channel 4 show after one year on the job and made history as the first female to do so.
She took over the letters and numbers programme from The Apprentice’s Nick Hewer in 2021, after much discussion over who would succeed him after ten years at the helm.
