The BBC has unveiled plans for coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral today, with the likes of Huw Edwards, David Dimbleby and Sophie Raworth presenting.
Buckingham Palace announced Her Majesty had died peacefully, surrounded by family, at Balmoral on September 8.
The Queen’s funeral will take place on Monday, September 19, following a procession, which saw the Queen’s coffin transported from Scotland to her final resting place in Windsor.
Raworth will be covering events from Parliament Square during the BBC’s nine-hour broadcast, which will include the build-up to the funeral, the service itself and the procession to Windsor before the Queen is laid to rest alongside Prince Philip.
Meanwhile, Edwards and Fergal Keane will be covering events in London while presenters Dimbleby and Kirsty Young report from Windsor.
But who is journalist Raworth? Here is everything you need to know…
Who is Sophie Raworth?
Sophie Raworth, 53, is an English journalist, broadcaster and presenter from Surrey.
She has been with the BBC in some capacity for nearly 20 years, first joining in 1992 as a news reporter for Greater Manchester Radio before becoming BBC Regions correspondent in Brussels in 1994.
In 1995, she became a presenter on BBC’s Look North programme in Leeds, before joining BBC’s Breakfast News in 2000, presenting alongside Justin Webb and John Nicolson.
She has since gone on to become a key part of the BBC News team, regularly presenting the BBC News at Six and the BBC News at 10.
In 2015, she replaced Anne Robinson as host of Watchdog and also began hosting Crimewatch in 2016, taking over from Young.

Earlier this year, Raworth took over The Andrew Marr Show – retitled as Sunday Morning – while the BBC searched for her permanent replacement, before Laura Kuenssberg launched her own Sunday morning show after her stint as the BBC’s political editor.
Outside of her work on the BBC, Sophie is a keen runner, having completed the London Marathon four times, as well competing in all six World Marathon Majors.
Is Sophie Raworth married and who is her husband?
Raworth is married to real estate company director Richard Winter – the couple tied the knot in 2003.
He proposed to her in Amalfi, Italy on her 35th birthday, and they have three children together – two daughters called Ella and Georgia, and a son named Oliver.
Sophie often shares photos of her family and dogs out on runs on her Instagram – for which the handle is @sophieraworth, as is her Twitter handle.
