Tim Allen has come under criticism after one of his co-stars on the TV show The Santa Clauses stated working with him was “the truly single worst experience” she’d ever had with a coworker.
Casey Wilson, best known for her roles on Saturday Night Live and Happy Endings, appeared as a guest star in the series’ pilot episode, which aired at the end of last year.
The Disney Plus series, which just ended its second season, is a prequel to Allen’s previous three films, The Santa Clause (1994), The Santa Clause 2 (2002), and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).
While the holiday franchise has brought lots of joy to fans over the years, Casey has stated that things were everything from merry during production.
Wilson has spoken about her time working with Allen, saying she had ‘hidden’ the tale until now since a producer on the series was a personal friend of hers, and her own children ‘liked the films’.
But now the actress has dubbed Allen ‘such a b****’.
‘It was the truly single worst experience I’ve ever had with a co-star ever,’ she shared on a recent episode of her B**** Sesh podcast.
‘So, I’m in a scene. It’s just me and Tim Allen and I’m supposed to throw things at him,’ she recalled.
‘I think he’s a burglar. So, he’s coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa, and I am woken up thinking there’s an intruder, basically like a home invasion scene. So I’m throwing things at him.
‘[He then] goes over to the producer who is standing four feet from me and goes, and I hear him, he goes, “You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines”.
Wilson then said that the producer ‘turned to me with horror on his face’ before walking over and saying: ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.’
The actress went on to claim ‘everybody was walking on egg shells’ around Allen on set and ‘people just looked frantic’.
She added: ‘When he was done, he was so f***ing rude. Never made eye contact, never said anything. It was so uncomfortable.’
Allen allegedly left the set without informing any of his fellow cast members or crew members after Wilson finished filming one shot that blocked her in a close-up.
‘It’s the end, and Tim Allen goes, “Leaving!”, takes his Santa cape, picks it up and drops it on the floor and walks out,’ she said.
‘And they hustle in his stand-in; lovely man, who was much nicer to act against. People are scurrying to pick up his velvet Santa coat. He’s a b***h.
She concluded by sharing: ‘And this is the best… I will not say who said this. This was someone that I do not know, perhaps in the crew. [He or she] breezes past me and just goes, “You’re seeing him on a good day”.’
The Santa Clauses is streaming on Disney Plus.
