Zooey Deschanel has divulged that she would be open to resurrecting her adored Jessica Day character in a New Girl revival.
The comedy, which featured the 500 Days of Summer actress as Jess, an educator who moves into an apartment with three guys she’s never met before, debuted in September 2011 and ended in May 2018.
Throughout the show’s seven-year run and in the years since, Jess, Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield), Winston (Lamorne Morris), Cece (Hannah Simone), and Coach (Damon Wayans Jr) have brought laughter and pleasure to viewers all over the world.
Despite the fact that it’s been five years since Jess and the group created havoc in the loft, Zooey, 43, isn’t ruling out a series reboot.
When asked whether she would make an appearance in a possible reboot, she Sid: ‘It kind of depends on the situation. I don’t want to spend the remainder of my existence rebooting.’
Zooey, on the other hand, stated that, of all her endeavors, a New Girl reboot sounds the most appealing.

‘I definitely had a wonderful time and would be very happy to revisit,’ she told The Wall Street Journal.
Nothing would make us happier than to see the team amuse and perplex us with the True American drinking game.
Actor Lamorne has previously indicated interest in returning to the popular comedy.
‘We’re a small cast, I would definitely love to do a reboot for the fans, it would be fun.’
He then joked: ‘As long as there’s no Jake Johnson there, then I’m good. The rest of the cast is fine with me.’
Speaking about the oblivious yet lovable Winston, Lamorne added: ‘My character on the show was obsessed with his cat. He did everything with his cat. He treated his cat like his brother, like his son… he showered with the cat.
‘Everywhere I go, people still ask me about the cat Ferguson.’
New Girl is available to stream on Disney Plus.
