Abbey Clancy has supposedly lied so much about her age that she has no idea how old she is.
The surprising disclosure comes only days after the model and broadcaster marked her 38th birthday with husband Peter Crouch on January 10.
Former Liverpool star Peter, 42, was photographed taking Abbey out to a lavish meal at a London restaurant.
However, there was probably no mention of her age because Abbey couldn’t tell you how old she was becoming.
Sharing the bizarre revelation, she said according to the Mail Online: ‘I went to book a mammogram because you’re supposed to get it when you’re 40, and the girl said, “You’re too young, because you’re only 37”. I was like, “What?”’
‘I said, “Pete, I’m actually only 37”.’
Abbey explained that she ended up ageing herself as she ‘went through a phase of adding years’ so that she ‘looked good for [her] age.’
Peter has a birthday this month, turning 43 on January 30, but if that’s his true age is anyone’s guess at this point.
For her most recent birthday earlier in January, Peter filmed Abbey happily dancing around their home to Jennifer Lopez’s I’m Gonna Be Alright. Providing a running commentary, Peter quipped: ‘Ab, Jennifer Lopez, back from the toilet. Here she is… Actually better than JLo… my god it is absolutely incredible.’
Peter and Abbey, who have been married since 2011 and have four children, have been open about their marital troubles, and they recently revealed that they went through a difficult period.
However, they were able to reconnect on a trip to Thailand with Abbey telling new! Magazine: ‘Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it’s hard to keep the spark alive.
‘The main thing is not to take each other for granted, and Pete surprised me with a trip to Thailand, which was such a thoughtful thing to do.’
She added: ‘The only thing was Pete didn’t realise it was monsoon season it rained non-stop! We were there for 48 hours and we didn’t leave our room.’
‘Pete says it wasn’t his finest hour, but I didn’t moan. I was just grateful for all the effort he’d gone to. I feel rejuvenated, and like I can be a better mother and wife,’ Abbey shared.
