Gemma Collins has sparked outrage with her newest antics, allowing her dog Blu to eat off a plate in a restaurant.
The 42-year-old superstar accompanied her pooch to breakfast with new best friends Jedward – John and Edward Grimes, all 32.
Gemma, who is engaged to boyfriend Rami Hawash, went to Oak and Poppy in Hampstead with her X Factor friends and her whippet. They all had a lunch.
Blu stood on a chair next to the former Towie star, who was happily eating a platter of chopped sausages and scrambled eggs.
‘He only eats at the table and loves eggs!’ Gemma announced in an Instagram video, stroking the hungry pup as he licked the dish clean.
She wrote: ‘The LOVE for dogs 🐩 in Hampstead is next level the joy and happiness they bring to our lives 🐶 why doesn’t everywhere become more doggie friendly this would be fabulous ✌🏻.’
Gemma requested supporters for more dog-friendly restaurant choices, but was met with a barrage of unpleasant comments from followers who were outraged by the ‘unsanitary’ behaviour.
A fan named Shelley wrote: ‘I’m all for dog-friendly places. I have 2 black Labs but, I wouldn’t be happy to use plates after a dog has eaten of it, even if they are washed. Just saying.’
Amy Holland added: ‘I agree that there definitely should be more dog-friendly places around, I have a dog myself. However, letting a dog lick off a plate like that in a restaurant is really gross and shouldn’t be allowed.’
According to the MailOnline, in comments which are no longer visible on the post, one person said: ‘OMG Gemma I am really sorry but that’s disgusting. It’s so unhygienic.’
A fourth person slammed: ‘That’s disgusting, I would never let my dog do that to my own plates, never mind in public!’
Some individuals supported Gemma’s puppy parenting, including Jedward, whom she got close to last year and even spent Christmas with.
The Irish twins, who rose to fame on X Factor in 2009, hit back at the naysayers via their official account and commented: ‘Dogs are family members.’
After the horrified comments, the restaurant responded to Gemma’s post and commented: ‘Thank you for visiting @gemmacollins, it’s always great to see you. We love and welcome dogs at Oak & Poppy.
‘However, we do not allow dogs to eat from plates and ask that dogs stay on the floor on leads ❤️🐶.’
Gemma hasn’t commented on the incident, but she did share a video of herself ‘getting glam’ with Ariana Grande’s new dark song Yes, And? playing in the background.
