Alison Hammond has interviewed some of the world’s most famous people, so it’s no surprise she wants her own talk show.
The This Morning favourite addressed the paucity of female-fronted discussion programmes in an exclusive interview with Guilty Pleasures.
‘There are none. ‘Do you know what, we certainly need to put it on the vision board,’ Alison replied. ‘I’m definitely up for a chat show. It would be fantastic for the country.’
And, after rising to stardom as a Big Brother competitor in 2002, the 48-year-old broadcaster is disappointed she has not been invited to manage ITV2’s impending revival.
‘Listen, they’ve missed a trick if I don’t host it, let’s be honest. But I wasn’t asked, so I’m seething!’ She remarked. ‘Well, that’s life. What can I say if they can’t see the magic that I would bring to that Big Brother situation?’
Alison will then present the EE Bafta Film Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall as the host of the all-access Bafta Studio. ‘It’s the stuff you see as they (the winners) leave with their prize. ‘I’m going to care after them, guide them through the evening, and find out the buzz,’ she explained.
The mother-of-one has already wooed Beyoncé, Harrison Ford, and Hugh Jackman, and this weekend she’ll be on the lookout for a trio of handsome Irishmen.
‘I like Brendan Gleeson a lot. So I move from him to a little Colin Farrell, then from Colin Farrell to a little Daryl McCormack.
‘I’m going to have to be professional, and I’m going to bring my professionalism, because this is Bafta, and this ain’t no joke!’ She burst out laughing.
The Baftas will be broadcast on Sunday at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer
