We’ve all been in that awkward situation where we believe we know someone but don’t… Unfortunately for Kai Fagan, his was shown on national television.
When the Love Island actress, 24, went the villa to get to know the boys while the girls were gone, she had a cringe-worthy encounter with a Casa Amor female.
Kai was positive it was ‘Kim,’ and she was eager to cry out to her as she neared… But her name couldn’t be more unlike than Kim’s.
Her real name was Lydia Karakyriakou, but she didn’t notice Kai’s uncertainty, which was probably for the best.
‘Nah, I believe I know her, I think I know her…’ he told the other boys as he locked his gaze on Glasgow’s Lydia.
‘Kim!’ he exclaimed, drawing Lydia’s attention.
‘Actually, I don’t know her,’ Kai admitted sheepishly when she didn’t respond.
‘She looks exactly like a girl I know.’
Later, when talking with the youngsters, he was asked, ‘I thought you knew someone?’
‘Bro, she looked exactly like this girl,’ he explained.
The others were shocked to find that he had actually screamed out the other girl’s name before going away in hysterics.
Viewers at home, of course, caught up on the cringe-worthy moment, labelling it ‘hilarious’ as they burst out laughing at Kai’s arrogance in calling out a random girl’s name to a stranger.
One viewer tweeed: ‘kai screaming “kim” at some random girl has to be the best moment so far’.
‘Kim is watching love island confused’, joked another.
‘Kai shouting Kim at some random girl was so embarrassing’, cringed another.
While it wasn’t immediately evident who ‘Kim’ was, the Twitter detectives swiftly set to work – and eventually found her.
Kai discovered Kim Schneider’s Instagram account after performing some Instagram stalking.
The brunette beauty, who is also from Manchester like Kai, does resemble Lydia… in very little ways, but there’s no doubting that Kai’s moment was completely awks.
‘NOT KAI CALLING SOMEONE KIM WHOS NOT CALLED KIM IM DYING’, one Twitter user joked.
‘you know what that ‘KIM’ moment has redeemed kai for me’, laughed another.
Although Kai wasn’t the only one with a mare with a name that day, Olivia Hawkins, with whom he’s been seeing, really forgot his name for all of five minutes while at Casa Amor!
