Beyonce’s new bodyguard definitely has a wicked sense of humour, as seen by a suitable homage to the city of Dallas during her most recent Renaissance Tour event.
After appearing in Europe and numerous places across North America in support of her 2022 dance album Renaissance, Queen Bey, 42, is regretfully reaching the conclusion of her massive global tour.
It’s a historic tour that has become the highest-grossing tour by a female artist of all time, but it will all come to an end in October with gigs remaining in Houston, New Orleans, and Kansas.
Beyonce performed at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, and as usual, she wore a gorgeous selection of magnificent stage dresses from high-end designers.
During one scene, the Halo singer was escorted down a flight of stairs by her ‘handsome’ bodyguard James Plaza, who had previously in the tour taken the internet by storm with his charming looks.
A video uploaded on social media showed James grasping the music icon’s hand, but it wasn’t only his gentlemanly demeanour that attracted viewers; they also enjoyed the fact that he was wearing a cowboy hat, a nice tribute to the southern state of Texas.

James also posted a photo backstage wearing the cowboy hat with the caption: ‘When in Texas,’ accompanied with the cowboy emoji.
Reacting to his fun look, one fan commented: ‘James is soo daddy omg,’ while another swooned: ‘He knows what he’s doing omfg.’
‘I hope he does this for houston OMFG,’ another admirer begged.
One stated: ‘He looks EXTRA FINE TONIGHT!’ in the midst of many other cowboy innuendos which shall not be mentioned.
The BeyHive first noticed James when they saw him at Beyonce’s Washington gig in August.
When it came to the time that the audience took the Energy mute challenge – when Beyonce sings: ‘Look around everybody on mute,’ the bodyguard smiled as the audience became silent on her command.
It didn’t take long for internet sleuths to track him out and find his social media.
James is a professional bodybuilder who has competed in and won multiple contests in addition to being a member of Beyonce’s Renaissance security detail. His Instagram profile is loaded with videos of him practising, but he said earlier this year that he would have to take a long stretch of time off to work – translation: accompany Beyonce on tour across the world.
Fans haven’t forgotten Beyonce’s longstanding personal bodyguard Julius DeBoer, who is thought to head the tour’s security business and has also been a dedicated ever-present figure behind the diva at each performance.
Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour continues in Houston on Saturday.
