Britney Spears has spoken out after her recent Instagram videos sparked worry.
The Toxic singer shared a video of herself dancing in her home room while holding two knives earlier this week.
Some admirers were apparently concerned enough to phone the cops, who are understood to have approached the 41-year-old’s home to conduct a welfare check.
Taking to social media once more, she addressed the anxieties in a new video, stressing that the knives are fake and that no one need be concerned.
‘I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,’ the mom-of-two wrote in the caption of her latest upload, in which she showed off her new dance moves.
‘These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police.
‘I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by!!!
‘Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks!
It was reported that law enforcement officers conducted a wellness check on Britney after followers expressed worry over her Instagram antics.
Alongside the initial video, which was posted on Monday and is still visible on her page, the Crossroads actress penned: ‘I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives!!! Halloween is soon!!!’
In a subsequent video, she attempted to mock people who had expressed concern, claiming that she had just been inspired by Shakira’s previous MTV VMAs performance.
Beside the footage, she urged: ‘Lighten up about the knives I’m copying Shakira!!!’
