Greg Rutherford, Olympic gold medalist and Strictly Come Dancing judge, is apparently poised to compete on Dancing On Ice.
Love Island winner Amber Davies will join boxer Ricky Hatton, actress Claire Sweeney, and former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt on the ice, according to early reports.
And it’s now been revealed that Greg is hoping to impress Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Greg experienced a shoulder injury in the lead-up to the 2022 Winter Olympics.
‘Greg was upset after his Olympic ambitions were dashed, but it practically opened up his schedule, so when the Dancing On Ice opportunity came through, he chose to speak with management,’ says a source.
‘As an athlete, he loves having something to focus on and a project to train for, so this will give him something to channel his competitive spirit into.’

The insider added to The Sun: ‘Ice skating is arguably more athletic than ballroom dancing, so Greg should really come into his own on the show.
‘He’ll put the hours into training and be laser-focussed on going all the way.’
Greg, an Olympic gold medalist in the long jump in London in 2012, was on the 14th season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, when he was eliminated in week nine.
He won the 14th season of Celebrity MasterChef in 2019.
Amber, the 2017 Love Island winner who has gone on to have an amazing career on the West End, is the most recent celebrity to be named as part of the Dancing On Ice lineup.
She confirmed the news on Friday’s broadcast of Lorraine, admitting that it now “feels real.”
‘It’s out there now,’ she said. ‘I’ve been in this Dancing On Ice bubbled and today it feels real. No, I can’t go back!’
Amber is looking forward to working with ‘an amazing pro’ – who she’s not had the chance to meet yet – and she’s determined not to let ‘the adrenaline’ get the better of her.
‘I would definitely say that I’m an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don’t want the adrenalin to get the better of me,’ she added.
Dancing On Ice returns to ITV in 2024.
