Britney Spears has explained why she posts naked images of herself on Instagram so regularly.
The 41-year-old pop diva draws a lot of attention for what she posts on social media, with the singer frequently choosing photographs or videos of herself naked, pole dancing, or performing with knives – all of which she maintains are false.
Following the termination of her court-ordered conservatorship after 13 years in November 2021, the actress was given complete control of her personal and professional lives, including full autonomy on social media.
Britney said in her upcoming biography, The Woman In Me, that many might find her Instagram images perplexing, but she derives ‘a lot of satisfaction’ from posing for – and taking – her own photos.
She also stated that it was the way ‘I feel sexy’ after decades of being photographed by others.
‘I know that a lot of people don’t understand why I love taking pictures of myself naked or in new dresses,’ the Toxic chart-topper wrote in an extract from the book, according to The New York Times.
‘But I think if they’d been photographed by other people thousands of times, prodded and posed for other people’s approval, they’d understand that I get a lot of joy from posing the way I feel sexy and taking my own picture,’ she added.
Britney previously sparked outrage and alarm with a video in which she danced and performed some of her famous routines while wielding two massive kitchen knives.
Despite her explanation that the blades were not genuine, concerned admirers called the cops, who conducted a welfare check and decided she was not in any danger.
Britney apologised for’spooking’ followers with the obviously real knife-wielding movements, but called the police visit a ‘joke’ in an angry tweet.
After her memoir apparently leaked in its entirety days before its publishing date, the Stronger hitmaker erased her Instagram before reinstalling it over the weekend.
Britney’s highly awaited book is set to be released on October 24, but copies appear to have gone on sale almost a week earlier, on October 18.
The rest of the world has only seen portions, with disclosures such as Britney and then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake making the agonising decision to undergo an abortion when she became pregnant by him as a teenager.
However, Mexico appears to have been given the opportunity to read it in its entirety, since photographs of Britney’s memoir for sale in the nation have began to circulate.
Readers have recorded themselves flipping through the book, titled La Mujer Que Soy in Spanish, amid fan allegations that it is now officially on sale in the nation.
Britney’s army of devoted fans has appealed with anyone who has been able to acquire the memoir early not to reveal any insights or snatches from it.
The Everytime singer has not commented on the claimed leak, and she has already disabled her channel multiple times over the last few years, usually returning after a brief hiatus.
