Chanelle Hayes has revealed she is ‘a little irritated to say the least’ after being diagnosed with arthritis in both hips at the age of 35.
The Big Brother star resorted to social media to share her diagnosis with fans, asking her admirers for advice on how to live with the ailment.
According to the NHS, arthritis is a common disorder that causes joint discomfort and inflammation.
They claim that millions of individuals in the UK suffer from arthritis or other joint-related disorders, and that it can afflict people of any age.
Chanelle explained that she has osteoarthritis, the most common type of arthritis in the United Kingdom.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Chanelle said: ‘Morning, so I’ve just had a phone call from the doctors regarding some results from an X-ray that I had done.

‘And, considering I’m only 35 years old,’ she continued before her fiancé Dan Bingham was heard muttering something inaudible.
‘Shut up Dan, just ignore Dan,’ she continued before getting back into the flow of what she was saying.
‘Considering I’m only 35 years old, I’ve now been diagnosed with arthritis in both hips. Bit annoyed, to say the least. Because I feel like it’s going to hinder me from doing stuff that I need to do.’

What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is the most frequent type of arthritis in the UK, affecting persons in their mid-40s and older.
It can, however, occur at any age as a result of an injury or be associated with other joint-related disorders such gout or rheumatoid arthritis.
Women and persons with a family history of the illness are more likely to have it.
Osteoarthritis first affects the joint’s smooth cartilage lining. This makes movement more difficult, resulting in pain and stiffness.
The tendons and ligaments have to work harder when the cartilage lining roughens and thins. This can result in swelling and the production of bone spurs known as osteophytes.
Severe cartilage loss can cause bone to push on bone, changing the form of the joint and moving the bones out of their usual position.
Hands, spine, knees, and hips are the most typically affected joints.

She asked: ‘Has anybody else in their thirties been diagnosed with arthritis who could send me some light at the end of the tunnel?’
Chanelle added a question and answer box to her Story, inviting her 120,000 followers to share some advice with her.
One fan suggested steroid injections, sharing they had one in November which has ‘taken away the pain for [a] couple of months.’

When another follower told the mum-of-two to ask for a second opinion, Chanelle responded: ‘Love this response. ALWAYS agree knowledge is power and we should ask more questions about our healthcare.’
Chanelle revealed last year that she has lost eight and a half stone in weight after undergoing a gastric sleeve procedure in September 2020.
Discussing body positivity in an Instagram post, she wrote: ‘Now I look at my body as something I am grateful for, that I have taken for granted, that I need to treat with respect.
‘And something that is different to everybody else’s, always will be, and that’s ok.’
