Chris Evans talked about his recent cancer diagnosis and why he wasn’t alarmed when he first noticed a strange lesion on his skin.
The 57-year-old presenter said that because he was a redhead and already ‘covered’ with imperfections, the ‘freckle’ would be harmless.
He revealed his health issue on his Virgin Media radio show on Monday, eight years after being given the all-clear following a prostate cancer scare in 2015.
The broadcaster stated that his masseuse pushed him to have a freckle on his leg evaluated by a specialist after his pale skin was “covered with freckles.”
Chris revealed further information about his diagnosis and the tale of how his atypical freckle was discovered during a TalkTV interview with Mike Graham.
He explained: ‘The lady who did my massage spotted this mark on my left calf six weeks ago and she said, “Have you noticed this before?”

‘She said, “I think you should get it checked out. I don’t think it’s anything but you know I see a lot of this, this is what I do for a living, I look at people’s skin, I’m in contact with them all the time” and she said, “I’ve seen a few things over the years and that’s something you might want to get checked out”.’
However, due to his freckle-prone skin type, he ignored the warning and it was only after he went back for a second massage at which she suggest once again he get it checked that he decided to see a doctor.

The host continued sharing: ‘The next Friday I went back and she said, “What did they say about the freckle?” I said I didn’t go and she gave me this different look, more maternal look.
‘I think I was going to do something about it anyway, but she gave me a look just six days after the first time. She said, “Do it for me. Go and get this checked out” and I thought, “Yeah absolutely of course I will”.’
He reasoned with his fellow broadcast that he didn’t think anything of it at first because: ‘I have lots of blemishes. I’m a redhead. I’m covered in freckles.’
