Since his buddy and co-star Jeremy Renner’s horrific snow plough accident on January 1, Chris Evans has been there for him.
On New Year’s Day, the Hawkeyes star, 52, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries after being driven over by his own six-tonne ploughing machine while attempting to aid a family member.
Renner revealed on Saturday that the accident had resulted in more than 30 shattered bones, and Evans reacted quickly to his tweet.
‘You’re one tough mf’er. Has anyone checked in on the snowcat? ‘Sending so much love,’ wrote the Captain America star.
Evans, 41, was referring to the heavy-duty machine that ran Renner over.
This isn’t the first time he’s openly backed Renner in recent weeks.
On January 7, Evans wished his fellow Marvel star a happy birthday on Instagram, saying, ‘Happy birthday to one of the hardest guys I know!’ I’m sending you a lot of love.’
The two have been pals and co-stars for a long time, having featured in The Avengers franchise as well as Captain America.
Evans was one of the renowned faces who wished Renner a speedy recovery after learning of his injury.
He wrote beneath Renner’s post about the accident: ‘Tough as nails. Love you buddy.’
Renner has been updating his fans on his rehabilitation, and in his most recent post, which was released on Saturday, The Mayor of Kingstown actor shared a snapshot of himself undergoing therapy while lying in bed.
He wrote: ‘Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new year…. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love.
‘I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all.
‘These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to you all.’
The incident occurred near the Mount Rose Highway, which connects Lake Tahoe and south Reno and borders the Nevada-California border.
Renner immediately uploaded a picture of himself from his hospital bed, thanking fans for their support but claiming he was ‘too messed up to type’.
