An American flight attendant is under fire after mistaking one of her passengers for rap icon Snoop Dogg and posing for photos.
Chrissy Lofton, a Southwest Airlines stewardess, was thrilled to see the Drop It Like It’s Hot celebrity among passengers boarding her aircraft to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She summoned the confidence to greet him and compliment on his height as she requested photographs, utterly unaware that it was not multi-millionaire Snoop.
Timothy Graham, the Snoop Dogg lookalike’s cousin, recorded the encounter on film and was in complete shock at the mistaken identification.
Chrissy said, ‘You make me feel so short!’ before putting her arms around ‘Snoop Dogg’ and posing for photographs.
Totally convinced she had met the 52-year-old icon, she later posted the images on Instagram and wrote: ‘I had Snoop Dogg on my flight into Fort Lauderdale today. He is the sweetest.’
While we’re sure the real Snoop – true name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. – is also ‘the sweetest’, it wasn’t until the responses started coming in that Chrissy noticed her mistake.
‘Chrissy sit down I gotta tell you something…’ commented Dwynell Roland while Raegene Denise wrote: ‘Lol the pic is cute but it’s not Snoop Chrissy ♥️.’
Quickly comparisons were drawn between Crhissy and Martha Stewart, a friend of Snoop’s, with commenters calling them ‘Snoop and Martha from Shein.’
‘Bull Dogg & Martha Soupwart,’ came one comparison as Jadon Vilfort added: ‘Naww aunty that’s his hood brother snoop dugg😭.’
Not-Snoop’s cousin captioned the viral video: ‘Man these people be taking pics with my cuzin because they say he look like Snoop Dog.’
Timothy then stated that he had played on the mistaken identification and ‘instigated’ the contact for his own amusement.
The video even made it to the guy himself, the actual Snoop Dogg, who reposted it with some laughing emojis.
The Young, Wild & Free rapper recently fooled the world into believing he was quitting marijuana.
Snoop has become associated with joints, so his news surprised the world – but it wasn’t what it appeared.
After saying that he would no longer participate, the entire event turned out to be a massive publicity gimmick for Solo Stove, promoting the brand’s smokeless fire pits.
In response to family worries about his health, he has reduced his daily consumption in recent years.
