Jenna Ortega, star of Scream, has expressed her true feelings regarding the scary Wednesday tattoo that went viral not long ago, when a fan shattered the internet after getting tattooed with a profile that resembled Samuel L. Jackson.
A fan of Netflix’s Tim Burton adaption displayed their ink, but did not receive the reception they expected.
‘Welp, this was supposed to be Wednesday Addams but looks more like Samuel L Jackson as a kid… lol #HappyNewYear Squad,’ someone shared, sparking some pretty hilarious reactions.
The tattoo is designed to look like Jenna, the 20-year-old heroine in the blockbuster Netflix series, complete with her school uniform and distinctive plaits.
Yet, the facial traits resemble those of 74-year-old actor Nick Fury.
Jenna has now expressed her opinion on the matter.
When asked if she’d seen it, Jenna exclaimed: ‘Oh my god’.
She added to Elle: ‘I almost made it my profile photo’.
‘That tattoo of Samuel Wednesday Addams is a jump scare every time I see it in a scroll. My God,’ one person hilariously wrote, when the image was going around Twitter.
Another penned: ‘When you get a pre-production tattoo of Wednesday Addams, after hearing Samuel L. Jackson is being considered for the lead.’
Jenna has stated her want to play powerful heroines after stealing the show in Scream and Wednesday.
Jenna spoke to Metro.co.uk ahead of the March 10 release of Scream 6 – or Scream VI – and couldn’t help but compliment the roles she gets to play and the work that goes into each film.
‘It’s the best, I have an unreal job,’ she began. ‘I pinch myself [at] the fact that I get to go to work and do the things I do.
‘I only ever want to play empowering characters… I guess that’s not necessarily true, sometimes it’s fun to play the annoying little wimpy, whatever…
‘But I think it’s cool because the characters that I have played that are badass have so much dimension, have so much to them. They’re capable of so much more than people initially give them credit for.
‘So, I think it’s always really exciting for me to be able to dig into a script or dive headfirst into the experience on set and really just do all that I can to make these people multifaceted and genuinely interesting individuals outside of their abilities, or outside of heroic acts that they may partake in.’
Scream 6 is in cinemas on March 10.
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
