Katie Price and JJ Slater have been relatively private about their relationship, but the former Married at First Sight star has now defended his girlfriend.
Katie, 45, has been having the time of her life as she parties with her new man JJ, who is 14 years her junior; the couple even said ‘I love you’ five months in.
She’s shared lustful Instagram photos of how ‘fit’ he is and made it official when she announced they were dating on her podcast.
Meanwhile, JJ has taken a backseat and kept to himself, appearing as arm candy at events but not making too much fuss about his girlfriend.
Now, the reality TV star, who famously dumped his wife for another woman, has declared Katie is definitely his type.
The 31-year-old said: ‘Of course, she is obviously a very, very attractive lady and I do fancy her, she’s my girlfriend now… but I have always thought she was fit.’
He confessed to MailOnline he had even messaged Katie years ago but the I’m A Celeb star had not replied, although she has now found the cheeky DM.
Following his appearance on MAFS, the two became friends, with the mother of five contacting him following his diabetes diagnosis announcement.
They went on some dates in December after Katie had split from Carl Woods, and by January, love had blossomed.
JJ added: ‘It wasn’t something I was looking for… I had been on Married At First Sight UK, which was a stressful and intense experience but with Kate and I… it just happened super naturally.’
However, not everyone supported the relationship, and their age difference became a focal point of public debate about their romance.
‘With our age… It’s not even a consideration… age doesn’t matter at all,’ JJ continued. ‘Age is just a number and when you’re older it’s not an issue. We’re both on the same page and wave length and that’s all that matters.’
JJ has reportedly already met Katie’s youngest children, Jett, 10, and Bunny, nine, whom she shares with Kieran Hayler.
She also has two children with ex Peter Andre: Junior, 18, and Princess, 17, and her eldest son Harvey, 21, whose estranged father is Dwight Yorke.
During a night out earlier this year, Katie discussed her love life and gave advice to her younger self. She criticised her ex-partners.
The reality TV star said to the Beat102103 team in an Instagram video: ‘I wouldn’t have been with all the men I’d been with. Men have ruined my life, but I’ve met a good one now.’
Asked if she thinks failed relationships ‘make us’, she said: ‘No! They destroyed me. But I’ve got good kids out of it.’
